3.Sencha-do Experience at the National Treasure Kojoin
The Mii Koryū Sencha-dō is a tea ceremony deeply connected to Miidera Temple.
Held in Kojoin Hall, a National Treasure normally closed to the public, the graceful movements and gentle sound of hot water quietly soothe the heart, while the garden and sliding-door paintings enhance the elegance of the moment.
4.Sencha-do Experience at the National Treasure Kangakuin
The Mii Koryū Sencha-dō, a tea ceremony tradition of Miidera Temple, originates from Tuboiken, where sacred spring water was first offered as tea. 6.Shikan (Zazen) Experience
“Shikan,” the form of zazen practiced in the Tendai school of Buddhism, is a practice of calming the mind and observing ultimate truth.
Following the posture of the Great Master Enchin (Chishō Daishi), you sit quietly—without speaking, without moving.
In the clear, pure air, you steady your breath and listen closely to the voice of your inner self.
7.Sutra Copying Experience
Sutra copying, the practice of transcribing Buddhist scriptures, is a form of training that calms and disciplines the mind.
As you copy "the Heart Sutra," you encounter the teaching of “emptiness” and devote yourself to the practice with prayerful intention.
After the session, your completed sutra will be offered for a blessing in the main hall of the Kannondo Hall.
